Hermés 'Marine Naive' cotton scarf. The scarf was was designed by Philippe Dumas in 1992 and never re-issued (it is a part of the Autumn/Winter 1992/1993). The 'Marine Naive' is also sometimes wrongly called 'Henry F. Smith Sailor' Scarf or '1880 Henry F. Smith Sailor'.
The scarf depicts the life of Henry F. Smith, an English sailor in 1880; big ships sail an impressionistic sea, framed in red borders. Composition:100% cotton. Measurements: 26.5 x 26.5 inches - 67 x 67cm
The scarf is marked, "Henry F. Smith Sailor" on a banner within the pattern, "Hermès" with copyright symbol on the upper right corner and "PhD"as the designers signature. Composition tag is still attached.
